Tigres Negotiates for Dejan Joveljic Amid Injury Concerns

The Tigres club of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León is close to signing forward Dejan Joveljic, who can play both as a center forward and as a winger. This signing would add dynamism to the team's attack.

According to Fox Sports, the Tigres management is in advanced negotiations for Joveljic and is just waiting to free up a foreign player slot in the team. To make room for the Serbian player, Rafael Carioca is expected to be the one sacrificed, as his contract with Tigres will end in June.

The news of the possible signing of Joveljic comes at a time when the team's star forward, André Pierre Gignac, suffered an Achilles tendon injury that will keep him off the pitch for several weeks and could even mean the end of his tenure at Tigres, as his contract expires in June and there are no signs of renewal.

Dejan Joveljic, 25 years old, currently plays for LA Galaxy in the MLS and his contract with the club ends in December 2025. The Serbian player has experience with clubs like Red Star Belgrade and Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Bundesliga. During his time at LA Galaxy, Joveljic has scored 45 goals in 123 matches, demonstrating his goal-scoring ability and versatility in attack.
